Shopify checkout payment rules FAQ

1. Open NovaPay from Shopify Admin and select Rules.
2. Choose Create rule, then select Hide, Reorder, or Rename.
3. Enter a rule name, configure conditions, and select payment methods.
4. Save as deactivated while testing, then activate when checkout behavior is correct.

All conditions requires every configured condition to match the same checkout. Any condition runs the rule when at least one configured condition matches. Use All for narrow targeting and Any for broader alternatives.

The store may be on the Free plan or may have reached its active-rule allowance. The rule remains safely available as a draft. Deactivate another active rule or change the billing plan before activating it.

Shopify sends the checkout payment label to the customization function. Using the exact label shown under Shopify Settings > Payments prevents a rule from targeting the wrong method or missing it entirely.

Yes. Create a Hide payment methods rule, select the Cash on Delivery label, add a City / Area condition, and enter each supported or restricted location. Test spelling variations that customers may use.

• Create one checkout that should match every required condition.

• Confirm the affected method is hidden, moved, or renamed only in the matching checkout.
• Repeat the test on mobile when checkout wording or ordering is important.

They can, but overlapping rules should be designed carefully. Keep conditions specific, avoid contradictory rename actions, and test the combined checkout result before leaving every rule active.

NovaPay copies the rule configuration so it can be adjusted without rebuilding it. When the active-rule limit is reached, the duplicate is saved as a deactivated draft.

Check the selected operator, capitalization or spelling of text values, currency amounts, and whether All conditions requires another condition that is currently false. Simplify the rule temporarily to isolate the condition.

Include the store domain, rule name, action type, expected result, actual checkout result, and screenshots of the rule builder and checkout. Never include customer payment credentials or other sensitive payment information.
